Learn from the Forum Nokia Knowledge Base

The Forum Nokia Knowledge Base is part of the Forum Nokia Wiki. The Knowledge Base is a library of known issues, technical solutions, and code snippets. The Knowledge Base contains articles about various technologies related to mobile development — including Symbian C++, Java™, Web, and Flash Lite from Adobe technologies — and about many aspects of developing mobile applications. The Knowledge Base includes articles written by Forum Nokia experts and articles contributed by developers. You’re welcome to add your own articles to the library and to comment on articles it contains.

Known Issues articles describe the known differences between devices and platforms and their respective specifications. They explain situations where implementations may cause unexpected behaviours.

Technical Solutions articles comprise developer questions that have been answered by the Forum Nokia Technical Support team. The cases have been generalized and published to serve other developers as well.

Code Snippets articles contain well-written code blocks that demonstrate how to use APIs and methods to perform certain tasks, providing easy-to-use code for application development. The snippets use APIs of the public SDKs and have been tested on real devices.

Learn about user experience

User experience is shaped by many aspects of mobile development, including quality, usability, and design. For instance, when the language to be used in an application is chosen with care, power usage is kept to a minimum, and when unexpected errors are filtered out of the application, users will be more satisfied with your product.  In short, a carefully crafted application promotes a positive user experience.

Forum Nokia provides guidance, information on best practices, and tools that can enable you to develop efficient applications and optimise the user experience. Studying and applying this information to your development work could give you the competitive edge you need to produce the next outstanding mobile application.
